Michael KatèrlaMichael Katèrla hat für seine Arbeit den Blick nach Australien geworfen. In Australien gibt es gemessen an seiner Einwohnerzahl den weltweit größten Community Radio Sektor. Er hat in seiner Arbeit die grundlegende Frage gestellt: In welcher Art und Weise wird der theoretische und selbstdefinierte Anspruch eines offenen Zugangs und einer umfassenden Partizipation von den drei nach systematischen Kriterien ausgewählten Fallbeispielsendern in der Realität erfüllt? Dieser Frage konnte der Autor durch einen mehrmonatigen Aufenthalt in Sydney nachgehen. Dadurch konnte er eine vielzahl von Literatur-Quellen erschließen und die Arbeit der Radiostationen vor Ort beobachten bzw. durch längere Aufenthalte in den Sendern Einblicke in die täglichen Arbeitsabläufe gewinnen.
